About “The Challenge of the Americas”
The Challenge of the Americas, known throughout the equestrian world for its spectacular performances on horseback, returns for its 10th Anniversary to continue its fight against breast cancer. This annual fundraiser is a one-of-a-kind affaire that highlights the equestrian sports of Dressage and Polo. Competing riders include the "Who's Who" of the top equestrian competitors in the United States, Canada, Latin America and Europe.

Challenge History
The Challenge of the Americas, having evolved over the past 9 years from an afternoon dressage exhibition/luncheon in 2002, has grown into an under-the-lights international equestrian extravaganza & Gala. Its success and continued growth is due to its partnership in the fight against breast cancer, as well as its unique and highly entertaining format that includes not only the excitement of polo but the elegance of the musical freestyle quadrille forever to be recognized as "dancing for women around the world".
There are few, if any, places throughout the globe where an audience can delight in the performances of such a large and distinguished group of riders and their magnificent partners. It is a truly spectacular event to be enjoyed by all.

The Challenge Beneficiary
THE BREAST CANCER RESEARCH FOUNDATION

Since its inception in 1993 The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) has raised over $270,000 million – over $33 million in fiscal year 2009 alone – to support the most advanced and promising breast cancer research that will help lead to prevention and a cure in our lifetime. In 2009 – 2010, our grants are supporting 173 dedicated researchers at major medical institutions across the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Australia. If not for BCRF, many facts about genetic basis of breast cancer wouldn’t be known, breast cancer stem cells would still be a mystery, and personalized, targeted therapies wouldn’t currently be available. BCRF – funded scientists are responsible for these and many other critical achievements. We continue our pledge that at least 85 cents of every dollar raised for BCRF will support breast cancer research and awareness programs. And for the eighth consecutive year, BCRF received Charity Navigator’s highest rating, four stars, thus outperforming over 99.8% of the evaluated charities, while the American Institute of Philanthropy has awarded the Foundation its highest possible rating of A+. BCRF is the only breast cancer organization in the U.S. to receive these accolades.
